Welcome to Bangkok

Reffa and I caught up on some sleep on the plane on the way here. Quantas is the best airline ever. all of our food was vegan. service was great, ride was the smoothest i've ever been on. we got little gift bags at two different times full of fun stuff like snacks water bottles, blankets, sleepers, eyegear for sleeping, etc

reffa pretty much typed everything so I won't bother repeating, but I might just add a couple of words. basically we do all our posts together anyways so we're both talking ahhahaha

Here we are on the computer in the hotel lobby SWAN after our day of flight and cab with Tik (pronounced TEEK)
http://www.welcomethai.com/hotelreservation/bangkok/swanhotel.asp?hotel=Swanhotel
there's the link if you want to see where we're staying. it's pretty cool. we just ate supper and had some phad thai - YUMMMMM

we are trying really hard to say thank you in Thai, but every time we do all the Thai's laugh a lot at us. hahahaha it sounds something like khunpuncoowwwww or khunpuncom if you are a guy.
we'll tell you all about our exciting touristy day in bangkok tomorrow.

ciao for now!

i just looked at the baht converter online and your cab ride that was 500 baht was in fact $15.25 canadian. the pics of the hotel are so cool! looks like dreamland.... i'm glad the vegetarian/vegan cuisine is treating you well so far! i am very jealous of you guys!!! i actually would describe it as envious.... i totally wish i were there with you~~

That Tik guy was a total scam artist! Well I suppose that's how they earn their money. So yannie was reading this post and wonders why the continental breakfast was so small? She said "they don't eat it because it's too hot? Only toast and jam?" hee hee I love her. Then as we were reading the whole baht conversion thing threw her off because she couldn't understand why someone would ask for $1000 to ride in a cab! Well you girls are the best bloggers I have ever read! Where are you finding internet there? In the hotel I guess? So when do you girls start your classes down there? Ooooo miss you keep having fun!

we start out classes on Monday. We take a bus to phuket toady. We are getting picked up from our hotel at 4, but we have to check out at noon. So we are gonna ask if we can hang out by the pool, and just stay out of our rooms. I think they will let us.
The breakfasts were so cute ally, they hand cut the watermelon into heart shapes. We are gonna order it again this morning so we can take a picture.
